@sudhanshu dev can you share on what you mean? i guess on installing SigNoz - resource itilization is expected to increase - right? or do you mean services in an independent are showing more resource utilization?
s
Yes overall cluster utilisation increased
After deploying this
Which is unusual
As it is not prod and no real traffic
p
and this cluster is not where SigNoz is deployed?
s
No we deployed signoz here
One more thing
Does signoz support kotlin programming language
?
It is jvm based
As it is jvm based
Will signoz support it or not?
p
We support all languages suported by opentelemetry. If opentelemetry has support for a langauge/framework - you should be able to use SigNoz for it. I see some packages for Kotlin, but we have not tested kotlin specifically https://search.maven.org/artifact/io.opentelemetry/opentelemetry-extension-kotlin
@Srikanth Chekuri @Ankit Nayan do you have more insights on this
s
No issues
I will test and let you know 😄
s
@sudhanshu dev How much increase did you notice?
s
Let me collect the matrics from team
Hi
I have configured my kotlin application to signoz
All mertics are coming perfectly
Only one issue
I am getting service name
I am getting "unknown:java"
Below is the my configuration screen shot
Is there is any thing wrong with this configuration
?
a
try removing the quotes in the
resource.attributes
env
s
Ok
Let me try it
a
@sudhanshu dev did it work?
s
Yes It worked
Sorry I forgot to update
a
No worries 🙂
s
So Kotlin integration worked well
Same as Java
As it is jvm based only
All mertics are coming
👍
a
awesome
I don't think we have a blog on kotlin yet...would be great if you can write together with @Ashu
s
Sure
p
@sudhanshu dev you can submit a PR editing this page - with a section for Kotlin. The link for editing the page is at the bottom May also be interesting if you can write a blog on this as Ankit mentioned
s
Sure will do
