Hello 👋
Directed in this general direction from here: https://cloud-native.slack.com/archives/C01N6P7KR6W/p1717789024733709?thread_ts=1717789024.733709&cid=C01N6P7KR6W
Is it possible to integrate with Signoz without having to use the vendored otel-collector?
As I understand it, I wish to remain vendor agnostic here so that I do not need to make further infra changes for different APM systems.
Are there Signoz processors/exporters that can be used in otel-collector-contrib?

Hey Chris 👋
This FAQ somewhat answers your question. From what I understand, you can use your own OTel collector and set your endpoint to send Data to SigNoz OTel collector.
This FAQ and the gird mentioned here might also be useful.

Thanks @Chitransh Gupta. That looks a lot closer to what I was hoping for, as I see no mention of a signoz-otel-collector. I will give this a go and report back when I get a chance!

No, this is not possible. You can't remain completely vendor agnostic at the storage layer, if not collector you are still tied to actual storage part that can't work universally just by swapping with something else.
SigNoz is an open-source APM. It helps developers monitor their applications & troubleshoot problems, an open-source alternative to DataDog, NewRelic, etc.
