However, it would be a lot easier to collect logs using filelog receiver.

That can be easily done in K8s using K8s-Infra: <https://signoz.io/docs/tutorial/kubernetes-infra-metrics/>

In case of other platforms, you could use otelcol binary or docker with filelog receiver.

Thanks <@U02SS3ZAMKQ>  for so many options. I tried the otel java agent and used the env variable OTEL_LOGS_EXPORTER=otlp and now I can see the logs in the UI.
