Hello Everyone I have doubt about self-host, in Kubernetes need to install signoz in the same Kubernetes cluster for detecting all metrics and logs or we can take a new instance and install it. If it is new instance what is the procedure for detecting all metrics and logs for already existing Kubernetes.

Hi, I am using windows and I willing to contribute to backend service of Signoz but the python command does not run properly with arguments and a container ends up being unhealthy. I saw that Signoz had partial support for windows. Is there any better way I can get started with setting it up to contribute on Windows machine? I am thinking of either WSL or VMware setup.

Hey ! Everyone 👋 Its been quite sometime that we are using signoz and want to know how much data is ingested and total span count for traces & metrics in a day/week on signoz? Looked onto usage explorer graph but that shows only trace span count, not metrics. Also checked some metrics that otel emits like

otelcol_reciever_accepted_spans

but these metrics are not giving correct values. Can we query these from clickhouse?

So, after meeting, it sounds like this is a complete blocker for us. If we can’t get balancing working … oof. SigNoz does look nice, and I want to give it something of a chance (we haven’t been able to get any data into it yet, so we haven’t even been able to like, click around and experiment with it as an FE!), so I think I’m going to time-box out an attempt to patch in HTTP-protocol support … I don’t know Go yet, but I hear it’s a relatively bog-standard one, so perhaps something I can pick up fairly quickly. Before I do that, is this something somebody else is already working on? Or will be in the immediate future? I don’t want to waste time duplicating work. 😓 (Also, intuitions from y’all experienced with the codebase as to whether this might be amenable to a quick patch from me, or whether this will be entirely a waste of my time, would be very appreciated. Heh.)
